Job Title: HSQE Advisor
Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Advisor
Assystem is looking to fill the role of HSQE Advisor to help move forward its HSQE strategy.
The HSQE Advisor is responsible for assisting in the management of the organisations Operational HSQE requirements. To ensure the continuing safety and quality of work undertaken; maintaining, interpreting and developing the AEIL processes and documentation in order to ensure the highest levels of credibility, relevance and performance for AEIL, and to support AEIL members to perform more sustainably.
The role will assist in the operational control of the organisations HSQE systems and processes. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, the role will also help identify areas for improvement in the way in which we operate to promote a positive safety culture across all our activities.
The ideal candidate is familiar with highly regulated industries such as; Oil & Gas, Electrical Generation and Defence, ideally with existing experience working in operational activities and projects. As a key member of the HSQE Team, the position will be working closely with the HSQE Manager and other team members, together with external experts and stakeholders, as required. As such, we are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal skills, used to dealing with individuals at different levels and from different cultures and able to use this experience to lead consultations and reach consensus. A proven ability to successfully plan and deliver work in a dynamic small team with multiple work-streams is also essential.

You’ll need to have a NEBOSH General Certificate/NCRQ Level 6 Certificate (or equivalent) and a solid understanding of risks and hazards in a complex engineering organisation
Previous experience in/affinity for stakeholder engagement and consultation, within an engineering consultancy setting would be needed too. You’ll be sensitive to group dynamics/diverging perspectives and have the ability to manage relationships, build consensus and resolve conflict
Ideally you’ll have Lead audit qualifications (9001, 14001 & 18001/45001 and knowledge of the Nuclear sector. Any experience in carrying out gap analysis; problem solving, root cause analysis, accident investigation would be an advantage as well as experience in developing metric indicators
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
