Senior Control Systems Engineer – Machine Vision
The role is a senior control system engineer who has machine/computer vision experience. Ideally this machine vision experience will come from a solutions background, i.e. they will have developed machine vision solutions for various customers.
The role sits between a C&I design position, and a specialist MV development position, i.e. the role does not need to understand and develop fundamental MV theory and algorithms; the role is to deliver C&I and MV solutions for nuclear customers, typically by integrating off the shelf MV solutions.
To work in a collaborative team to develop machine vision solutions for various nuclear customers. The role will operationally report to the team’s Engineering Manager.
The role will operate across the complete project lifecycle – from requirements capture, through to design, development, implementation and commissioning.

You’ll have an EC&I engineering degree or equivalent and be ideally M Eng or PhD in an engineering discipline involving Machine Vision technologies.
This role requires a degree of understanding of machine vision systems such as any prior experience of software programming (any language/environment) and understanding of the specification of camera systems.
Ideally you’ll have experience of providing solutions which incorporate vision sensors (lasers, cameras, 3D scanners, etc). Finally, knowledge of modern Machine Vision technology, specifically, image analysis using Neural Networks.
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
